Dr. Bilal Mushtaq

As Chief Medical Officer (CMO), HCS Consulting, Dr. Bilal Mushtaq has more than 10 years of experience successfully leading clinical documentation improvement efforts for a diverse range of healthcare organizations. Dr. Mushtaq has also served as a physician advisor and ICD-10 physician champion. As a clinician and administrator, Dr. Mushtaq understands well the importance of clinical validation. As CMO, Dr. Mushtaq will lead all clinical services efforts to help healthcare organizations ensure clinical accuracy, minimize risk, and drive revenue recovery and compliance. Dr. Mushtaq earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He received his medical degree from Windsor University School of Medicine and completed his clinical and administrative training at affiliates of John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, the flagship hospital of the Cook County Health & Hospitals System in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mushtaq also has a Master of Business Administration in healthcare management and a post graduate certificate in strategic management from Davenport University.
